RussellClan is a family of musicians and dancers from Central Oklahoma. Combining a rich Celtic heritage with their love for traditional acoustic music, they perform a diverse tapestry of material, including hard-hitting Irish and Scottish tunes, contemporary folk ballads, bluegrass, and Western swing. The seven children, ranging from ages six to nineteen, all add their unique talents to the show in an array of singing, dancing, and playing that audiences of all ages will enjoy.
The Russell Clan…one of my favorite little family bands in the Midwest! I was needing to set up a band to play in our annual home school music event, and a friend recommended the Russells to me. I’m so glad she did! Even though this talented, lively, and entertaining band can play a variety of music styles, I have to admit my favorite style of theirs is Celtic music. They play it like it’s a part of them and you can’t help get caught up in the lively beauty of it! I highly recommend the Russell Clan and look forward to seeing and hearing more from them. -Krista Nissley -The HomeSchool Music Fest, El Dorado Springs, MO http://nf4hisglory.wix.com/homeschoolmusicfest
I had the privilege of working with The National Association for Interpretation for their regional conference in Guthrie, Oklahoma on February 26, 2014. They asked me to recommend a musical group to cap off their 3 day conference. Once I determined that the audience would be all ages from all over the region, I suggested they book The Russell Clan. I was invited to attend that evening, and I’m very happy I was able to be there personally. What I witnessed was two standing ovations, and an audience that absolutely loved this musical family! I will be recommending this awesome group to other clients in the future, and will hopefully be working many more events with them. I can’t say enough about the Russells!
It’s quite rare that an entire family not only enjoys the same music together but plays it together so well. The Russell Clan is my favorite family band, and for all the right reasons. They are talent rich playing a large number of instruments. They are wonderful singers blending their beautiful harmonies into memorable songs. They play the music authentically — Ol’ Timey, bluegrass, country swing or traditional Irish – their styles hit the mark. They are mindful and respectful of the musical traditions they present and remain humble despite their obvious talents. It’s a joy to witness their journey as a family band, and hear the fruits of their labor. For exciting, well-played music for the whole family, the Russell Clan is worth a listen.
I continue to be amazed by performances from the Russell family. They have long been associated with our traditional Irish music youth programs and we have had the pleasure of watching them grow from talented youngsters to professional musicians of the highest caliber. Amazing things are in store for this family as they undertake their first CD release and we can’t recommend them more highly!

“This amazing bunch covers all the bases when it comes to music. Celtic, Bluegrass, Texas Swing, Gospel, and each genre done professionally and sounding like they’ve been playing way beyond their years. You would not go wrong by having these fine folks play for whatever event you are having. They will have your attendees up on their feet clapping and dancing. It’s tough to beat young and talented and these guys are both.”

“The Russell Family’s talents will bring immediate attention to their varied talents and musical abilities that include playing instruments, singing, and dancing to Celtic music. Singing is a “forte” of this unique family that comes to life through harmonies only a family can sing and the enjoyment through the sibling’s eyes and enjoyable smiles…. priceless!”
